Our general purpose labs are located in Sierra Hall 1212, 1222, 1232, 1242. Networking and Security Lab (located in Sierra Hall 1131) is another general-purpose computer lab with server racks. Our main research labs are the Embedded Systems lab, Robotics lab, and Mechatronics lab. In our Embedded Systems lab (located in Sierra Hall 1432), the students have access to general tools and educational kits including Raspberry Pi, Arduino, myRIOs, DE2 & DE4 FPGAs, and NI ELVIS III boards, PCB prototyping machine, laser engraver, 3D printers, and reflow oven.
In Robotics lab (located in Sierra Hall 1141), we have a variety of research robots such as NAO as well as necessary tools for the development/assembly of small mobile robots. This lab is equipped with IR cameras mounted on the ceiling used for swarm robotics research.
The Mechatronics lab (located in Sierra Hall 2141) is another equipped laboratory for students interested in researching the area of Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) with a focus on AI-assisted systems. This lab space includes the general mechatronics tools, computers, hardness tester, tensile tester, and furnace.
